Golden Spiral Collection: Indra’s Pearls Blue
Part of a three-color series, Indra’s Pearls is a piece painted by artist Julia Klyus to bring to life the story of the God Indra. Indra is a Vedic Deity in Hinduism, a Guardian Deity in Buddhism, and the King of the Highest Heaven Called Saudharmakalpa in Jainism. In Buddhist mythology, Indra strung pearls across the vastness of the universe so that when looked upon, each pearl reflected each of the other pearls or jewels. Going on into infinity. Reflecting on this story, Julia created her own unique depiction of this myth by combining her personal fascination with golden spiral geometry and the infinite development of life through the cycle of birth as a never-ending spiral that moves through space birthing itself anew over and over and over again. Indra’s Pearls Blue and Indra’s Pearls Purple also depict a netting in the background connecting each point to one another representing the quantum entanglement that connects us all to the whole. For we are never separate from one another.
